Wondering where to head towards during this season of rains?  While most of you may want to cuddle up in your bed all day long, nature lovers crave for this time of the year. If your like one of them too, here's where you need to trip this weekend.

Karjat

In the Western Ghats, vast acers of green land spread across the end of the Konkan region. Karjat is the most sought after location to enjoy during the rains. Gone are those days when the roads were just mud paths. Developed over the last few years, Karjat is seeking a lot of attention from tourists. Well-known for its waterfalls and green pastures, it is truly heaven on earth. You can reach by road or simply catch a train. Opting for a long drive by road is a better option as you can capture magical glimpses of natures beauty. You can stay at a resort and enjoy their facilities and guided tours they offer. If your looking for something offbeat, research well, get there and explore the place on your own. Watch the fog covering the mountains as it begins to drizzle. Trust me, its a trip you will never forget!

Igatpuri

Drive around the town or sleep on the grass surrounded by mountains. You can reach here by train or road as per your convenience. Gorge on the local street food or trek around the place. Igatpuri is tiny village with friendly localites who are always happy to help. Undoubtedly it is beautiful throughout the year, but monsoons and winters are the best time to visit. The Waterfalls here are so beautiful that you'd want to stay all day long. Peace fills around you as hear little birds chirp while the sun slowly fades behind the green mountains.

Khanvel

This small little town was formed during the Portuguese rule in India. The main city Silvassa has become more industrialized, but, the outskirts are maintained well to keep the natural beauty. Just 20 kms away from Silvassa is Khanvel, the hub for adventure seekers and nature lovers. The lush green surroundings and purified air around instantly brings peace. The tourist department is indeed helpful in planning trips for you. You can hire a cottage of your own at a minimal cost at the Vanvihar Tourist Complex at Chauda. Nature Treks are organized at Dudhani, which is 20 kms away from Khanvel. Since its well known for its wildlife, you must visit the deer park, butterfly garden and tribal museum. Its time to have a satisfying meal at the local restaurants. Just being there and enjoying the moment will give you beautiful memories to last forever.

Lonavla & Khandala

Everyone in Maharashtra is in love with this place. Perfect for a weekend trip when you want to get away from all the chaos of the city. Monsoons is the only time you can enjoy the waterfalls here. Though it gets a bit crowded during the weekends, it is best to plan your trip on odd days. It is advised for everyone to take caution when the rains are too heavy. Having hot corn on the mountain top and watching the depth of the valley will mesmerize you.
