You name it & it is available. Different sizes, colours & patterns. Jewellery, clothes, shoes, bags and the list goes on. Each hawker has their own stall. Sometimes they just lay down a cloth & empty all the clothes for sale. Hearing that the BMC van is on its way, they rush and pack up everything. If luck is not in their favour everything is confiscated. A huge loss for them. But, mostly they manage to hide their goods right in time. A few sellers scream out their lungs " Sale Sale Sale". Though it is annoying, yet they manage to pull in maximum crowd towards their shop. Dressed in the weirdest fashion themselves, they hand out leaflets and show you the way to their shop at the corner of the road. The street is always crowded. Holiday or no holiday, it is filled with shopoholics & window shoppers. There are a few irritating sellers that have this peculiar tone while calling out, "maaadaaam, hello maaadame, aaiye maadame, bahut sare naye tops hai maaadaame". (you know what im saying right? )They have a list of dialogues like a wannabe professional salesman and use it for every customer. Sometimes they annoy you by acting over smart and too pushy.
It is no doubt you can bargain your way through. Though most of the times they do not bring down the rate. But you need to learn the knack of not overpaying or else it feels cheated. The more you buy, the more you can bargain. Apart from the streets, there are several boutiques around the place that offer great deals. Do not shy away from having a look as they often have sales going on.
